The Ocean View Hut
Gunnadoo Holiday Hut is a gorgeous private cabin, set in the rainforest, self contained and separate from the main house with views over the Coral Sea and Low Isle and a jacuzzi on the deck .
It is perfect for 2 people and offers stylish furnishing, a Queen Bed, ensuite bathroom, fan & air conditioning, wi-fi, smart TV including complimentary Netflix, tea & coffee making as well as a state of the art outdoor BBQ kitchen. The highlight of this absolutly private hut is a deck with Jacuzzi overlooking the coral sea and Low Isle! The Maui luxury hydrotherapy spa features 2 recliners facing the ocean and a total of 34 massaging jets!
Your outdoor kitchen is equipped with a Ziegler & Brown Turbo BBQ including side burner and sink. Inside the cabin you have a large fridge, microwave, tea & coffee making, toaster, all plates and cuttlery. Your staples such as Olive Oil, vinegar, BBQ sauces, spices, lavazza plunger coffee, herbal & black teas & bisquites are included as well as insect repellent and mozzie coils. For your comfort we use: quality 1000 thread count sheets and offer pool towels, bathrobes, sarongs and natural,organic bathroom amenities.
We are happy to provide our guests with all the local advise and tour information as well as tour bookings so they can experience the best of our unique area and the world heritage listed surrounds. We are professionals who work in the tourism industry and your tour booking through us will also support our small business.
We personally greet you and check you in to make sure you feel at home or, if preferred a self check in can be arranged!
A 2 night minimum stay applies and rates start at $220 per night. This is a couples retreat, Adults only.
Guests have access to the gym and laundry located at the main house.
How to get to us:From Cairns airport drive north along the scenic Great Barrier Reef Drive (Captain Cook Highway), pass Port Douglas and continue to drive north for about 20min. After Mossman Township the Captain Cook Highway becomes the Mossman-Daintree Road. Once you reach Rocky Point continue to drive until you see the Gunnadoo sign and orange flag on your left. Drive up in first gear as the driveway is steep until you reach the hut on your left (opposite the shed) and park in the driveway.
We recommend to arrive during daylight hours. Drive way not suitable for campervans and trailers. You can stock up on groceries on the way at IGA, the entrance of Port Douglas or in Port Douglas at Coles or in Mossman at Woolworth. Please advise of your arrival time!

Watching the sunrise and sunset view of the ocean was amazing. The beach is across the road if you just wanted to relax/go for a walk. Spa was amazing too. Falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the waves makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. All the amenities you could need with the outdoor kitchen being all you need to cook if you need to. The hot tub was great and in the perfect position. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. A great experience for our first time visiting far north Queensland from Victoria.
